Candle Care
TRIM THE WICK:
Please ensure that you trim the wick to a quarter of an inch on each use to prevent the flame from burning too high.
FIRST USE:
Please ensure that on first lighting your candle you burn it for 3-4 hours, allowing the wax to create a full melt pool (reaching the edge of the container) before extinguishing it. This will ensure that your candle burns evenly throughout, preventing any tunnelling (where wax builds up on the side of the container).
DURATION OF USE:
Do not let your candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time and ensure that the wax has fully cool and set before re-using it. Burning for any longer can cause the wick to become too large, thereby creating excessive heat and can lead to sooting. Do not continue to use your candle once it reaches around 1cm from the bottom of it’s container as burning for any longer than this could cause the container to overheat and break.
PLACEMENT:
Always burn your candle on a flat, stable and heat resistant surface and never leave it unattended. Keep your candle away from flammable materials and any draughts e.g open windows, fans, areas with increased activity. If lighting more than one candle at a time, please ensure you leave at least 10cm between each vessel.
EXTINGUISHING:
Please do not blow out the flame as this could lead to a fire. instead use a candle snuffer as this will also minimise smoke and ensure that the beautiful scent continues to fill your room.
WET SPOTS:
These are air pockets that can develop in between the solidified soy wax and its container wall. These are purely visual and will not affect the burn of your candle.
